CAN YOU CASE IT? #133 A Color Challenge

                       Can You Case It? #133

Another week….another Can You Case It? challenge. This week we have a color challenge.  I really like the way my card turned out this week and it is one of the easiest and quickest cards I have ever done!

Lemon Drop, Limeade Splash, Neutrals

For these cards I used one of our new dies from the Framed Dies collection.  There are a lot of these frame dies but the one I chose for this project is called Floral View (DI-0216) pg 249.  I cut the floral View design out of Black Licorice CS.

There are two ways that you can get the color behind parts the Floral View Die.

The first way is to cut one Lemon Drop and one Limeade Splash out of the Floral die.    Next,  adhere the Black Licorice die onto a piece of Whip Cream and glue the coordinating pieces into the Black licorice die.  They will fit perfectly, just like a puzzle!  Make sure all of the extra pieces are removed from the Black Licorice CS.

OR…. and this is the way I did it.

You can put the colored CS behind the die and lightly trace the shape of the flower or leaf you wish to show with color.  Next,  cut the piece out so that it fits behind the entire flower and leaf shapes.   After these colored pieces are adhered to the back of the floral view design,  I attached it to a piece of Whip Cream CS.  **This is a great way to use scraps!!!!

In this picture you can see where I cut the shape of the flower, leaf, and center dot of flower.  It is not necessary to be precise when cutting these shapes out.  In the 2nd picture you can see where the pieces were adhered to the back side of the Black Licorice Floral View Die.

I used a sentiment from the set Homemade Bundle(SS-0150) pg 135 to finish off the card.  I love the way tis turned out and can’t wait to use some of the other Frame Dies.

This card was so quick and simple I made a second one using one of our new AMAZING colors…Outrageous Pink.  I love this bright, hot color!

Here are both of the cards!!  All I changed about the cards was the landscape and color.  Which do you like best?

Fill in the blanks and that’s it. EASY PEASY!!    🙂    Don’t forget to link your card back to the CYCI? page.
