CAN YOU CASE IT #126 Your Favorite Die
This week we were challenged to use one of our favorite Dies. That was tough because Fun Stampers Journey has dies to match over half of our stamp sets. Bundles….LOVE THEM!!!
But, I finally decided on this super cute Jar Die. Do you love it? I DO!!!!
I think this Fun Stampers Journey stamp set and die, Homemade, is the cutest stinkin’ thing. This jar reminds me of a mason jar. When I was growing up we sometimes drank our beverages out of mason jars, so this stamp set brings back great memories. Nowadays, the pink lemonade I drink is mostly Crystal Light but still……..
For the jar, I used Rock Candy ink and stamped on Vellum. Vellum is a slightly opaque paper that you can see through. Stamped images do not dry as quickly on Vellum so heat set it before continuing with the next step.
Next, I used our new Pan Pastels on the back side of the vellum, LOVE THEM! The lemons are stamped with Bubble Gum ink and colored with the Pan Pastels.
I punched the stamped lemons out and dropped them( with a little glue), behind the jar. The lemon at the top of the jar was punched with a 1″ punch and sponged around the edge. I cut a slit 1/2 through the lemon and put it on the lid of the jar.
To make the jar look dimensional, I glued one side of the jar down, and after it dried, glued the other side so that it did not lay flat on base cardstock.
I cut two small notches on either side of the lid and pulled three strands of Journey Twine through and tied a bow in the front of the jar.
